 Nice product and provides a lot of detailed information. I really like the UI also. I did have a comment. When I ran a Self Test on a samsung 160GB SATA drive it ran okay but the HD was unusable after it completed. The OS completely lost it. I had to do a power off/on to get it back. I was really sweating it for a while. Also I had a bad sector reported by a backup application. Disk Sent. also showed a bad sector but said it was fixed and I did not have to do anything, but ...
This program was unable to read SATA Hard drive temperatures using a Promise SATA 300 TX4 controller card for the Seagate 1TB hard drives.

 Opinion From the standpoint of an average user I would rate you in at around 5-6 on a 10 point scale for standard everday uses, however from the standpoint of a software engineer who requires more advanced security formatting I would have to move down the scale some to a 3.5-4 on a 10 point.

 Buggy software Program has a poor user interface and is also very buggy.Trying to select a hard drive to scan for bad sectors only results in selecting ONE, and it is impossible to change to another one.It is impossible to perform a scan on several drives at once.Selecting another hard drive while scan is in progress will result in the hard drives jumping around in the list; unable to select another one.This is hardly what I would call a good program.

 There are many programs out there that promise the world. Spotmau is notorious for saying its products can do things that no software aps can do, for example boot *ANY* hard drive, fix any partition and so forth, and they offer 90 day money back guarantee. HDD Regenerator also falls into that category, only its 30-day money back guarantee is a bit of a problem. Who does one contact in the event one wants a refund? No one knows? HDDLife Trial I was originally attracked to trial HDDLife becuase it would monitor a LAN Drive. I have not been able to set it up to monitor the LAN Drive. Therefore I an rating the software on my current experience.RegardsVern
Temperature monitoring. Nice program. I had a recommendation to use this program. But there was one point that disturbed me: The program can't display the temperature. I don't know if this is related to my hardware, but that was a elemental reason for me to test the program.

HDDLife for HD Life I am a PC Tech and I don't and can't always can tell when a Hard Drive is too hot or about to fail this program is a very good solution to that problem.This can tell me if the Hard Drive is not getting enough air to cool it down. Also when the Hard Drive needs to move the data to a new drive before it fails. An excellent informative program Having recently experienced some major problms with my PC, I was delighted to find Hard Drive Inspector and to be able use its extensive and non-intrusive reporting system to monitor the health of my hard drives with minimal effort on my part.The disc reporting tool provided by the drive manufacturer gave insufficient information and lacks the power of continued monitoring. The ability to monitor drive temperature is essential in a country experiencing record summer temperatures. Thank you for an excellent tool.
